Safe Gambling at Betmate

1.0 Responsible Gambling

At Betmate, creating a safe and responsible platform is a top priority. We’ve built in a range of tools to help you stay in control – from cool-off periods and deposit limits to self-exclusion – all designed to give you greater control over your experience. You can find them anytime under the “My Account” menu.

1.1 Cool-off

Need a breather? Our cool-off tool lets you pause your play at any time. You can choose to take a break for 24 hours, 7 days, or 1 month. While you're on a cool-off, you won’t be able to deposit or take part in any contests.

1.2 Deposit Limits

You’re in charge. Set deposit limits for 1 day, 1 week, or 1 month – whatever works best for you. If there are any conflicting limits in place, we’ll always apply the one that restricts you the most.

For example: if you’ve set a £20 per day limit and a £100 per week limit, the £100 per week limit takes priority.

Changes to your limits?

1.3 Self-Exclusion

If you need to step away for longer, our self-exclusion tool is there for you. You can choose to self-exclude for 6 months, 1 year, 3 years, or 5 years. Once activated, your account is suspended immediately and you won’t be able to access any Betmate services during this time.

Want to extend your self-exclusion? You can do that in 6-month blocks by contacting selfexclude@betmate.app.

We also recommend self-excluding from other gambling platforms you use. To help us enforce your self-exclusion, we may retain personal data such as your name, address and payment details – strictly to prevent new account creation during this period.

To activate self-exclusion:

Important: Please don’t try to re-open your account or create a new one while self-excluded. If you do, and are able to access Betmate, we aren’t liable for any activity that takes place.

If you’ve self-excluded we will close your account and ask you to withdraw any balance you may have, which will be the only facility available to you.

When your self-exclusion period ends, we won’t contact you. If you’d like to return, you’ll need to email selfexclude@betmate.app. We’ll book a call with you between 8 am and 9 pm, and after that, we’ll apply a 24-hour cool-off period before your account can be reactivated.

We’ll also make sure you’re removed from all gambling-related marketing within 2 days of receiving your completed self-exclusion request.

1.4 Organisations We Recommend

1.4.1 GAMSTOP – A free self-exclusion tool covering all UK-licensed gambling sites.
1.4.2 GAMCARE – Offering support and counselling to anyone impacted by gambling. You can also email info@gamcare.org.uk or call 0808 802 0133.
1.4.3 BeGambleAware – For advice, tools and 24/7 support, call the National Gambling Helpline on 0808 8020 133.

2.0 Blocking & Filtering Software (new)

Want to block gambling content altogether? These tools can help:

Gamban, BetBlocker, NetNanny, Qustodio, Microsoft Family, and OpenDNS FamilyShield.

Our pages carry the RTA (Restricted to Adults) label – so most parental-control software will block us by default.

3.0 Under-18s

No under-18s, full stop. It’s illegal for anyone under 18 to open a Betmate account. We run electronic age checks on every user and may ask for proof. If you share your device, we recommend using blocking tools to prevent underage access.

4.0 Close Your Account (non-exclusion)

Just want to step away for now? No problem – email support@betmate.app to request account closure.

If you’ve got a balance, make sure to withdraw it before requesting closure.

You’re welcome back any time – just contact our support team.
