CAPTAIN X2 POINTS

VICE CAPTAIN X1.5 POINTS

Summary of how to play

  1. Pick your team
  • 1 GK
  • 2 DEF
  • 2 MID
  • 2 FWD
  • 4 Substitutes (GK, DEF, MID, FWD)

  1. Pick a Captain and a Vice-captain.
  • Your Captain’s points total will be boosted to x2.
  • Your Vice-captain’s points total will be boosted to x1.5.

  1. Join a game
  • You can join up until 10 minutes before the first game kicks off.
  • You must deposit enough money to pay the entry fee.
  • Betmate will take a variable percentage of the total prize pool as an administrative fee.

  1. Your players will score points based on their performance.
  • We go beyond goals, assists and clean sheets.
  • Points for tackles won*, interceptions and more.
  • See below for a full breakdown.

  1. When all the games have finished, the winner(s) will be revealed.
  • Some games pay 1st place only.
  • Some games pay multiple places.

*A tackle which is won is only counted if the ball is now in possession of the team who tackled the opposing player, or if the ball goes out of play following a tackle. However, it is not counted as won if the ball goes straight back to the opposition.

Selecting your team

For each game select a squad of 7 starting players and 4 substitutes.

  • 1 Goalkeeper and 1 substitute Goalkeeper

  • 2 Defenders and 1 substitute Defender

  • 2 Midfielders and 1 substitute Midfielder

  • 2 Forwards and 1 substitute Forward

Your 7 starting players should be the players you think are most likely to play and accumulate the most points. Substitutes act as back-up in case any of your selected players do not play.

Player Restrictions

Depending on the number of fixtures included in a game, you may only be allowed to select a certain number of players from a Club. For example, a games’ rules may only allow you to pick a maximum of 2 players from each Club.

Picking your Captains

From your starting 7 you must nominate a Captain and a Vice-captain.

  • Your Captain's points total will be boosted to x2
  • Your Vice-captain’s points total will be boosted to x1.5

If your Captain does not play, your Vice-captain will be changed to your Captain and you will no longer have a Vice-captain.

If both your Captain and Vice-captain do not play, then you will not have a Captain or a Vice-captain meaning that none of your players’ points totals will be boosted.

Substitutes

If a player does not play, the substitute for that position will replace them. If the substitute in that position does not play, they will not be used and you will score no points for that player.

If all of your starting players in a position do not play, your substitute will replace one of the players and the other players will score no points.

If all of your starting players in a position do not play, and your substitute in that position also does not play, you will score no points for those positions.

Substitutes must replace players in the same position, a Defender cannot take the place of a Midfielder.

Substitutes

The deadline to submit your team is usually 10 minutes before the first fixture kicks off in a game. Deadlines can differ for each game and are subject to change.

Changing your team

Once you have entered a game, you can change your team as much as you want up until the deadline for that game.

Depositing funds

You can only deposit funds using a debit card, the use of credit cards are prohibited and will not be processed. You will only be allowed to deposit money if we have previously confirmed your age and identity.

Entering a game

To enter a game you must have enough available funds in your account to cover the entry fee.

If you have not paid or confirmed your lineup prior to the game deadline you will not be permitted to play.

Depending on the rules set by the game you are joining, you may be allowed to enter once or multiple times using the same account.

Once you have joined a game, you cannot withdraw or cancel your entry fee for any reason.

Admin Fee

  • Public Pots: Betmate charges a fixed admin fee on public pots once the set guarantees and margin amounts are met. The payouts for public pots are fixed and will only increase if the pot meets the required threshold and criteria to activate Pot Overdrive (see full terms).
  • Private Pots: Private pots still have an admin fee of 0%. The payout for these pots increases with each new entry, directly reflecting the entry fee paid by participants.

Scoring

In-play points scoring are for the enjoyment for all Betmate customers. However, official scoring only happens once the pot is finalised.

Once pots are finalised, pots will move to your “Settled Bets” section of the app.Occasionally, data providers may change official scores after a pot has been settled on Betmate. These corrections are rare, but can occur.

Any changes to official scoring after a pot is settled will not impact pots that have been settled and we will honour payouts that have already been settled. If at any point, you have queries about the data we are receiving from our data provider, please contact support@betmate.app who will be able to help. We use official statistic from Opta for the purposes of our scoring system. We may change third party providers on occasion without notice.

Winning and pot distribution

The winner(s) of a game will be the player(s) who scores the most points during the game.

The distribution of the prize pot can vary based on the game rules set by the creator. Examples of payout structures include:

  • "Winner Takes All": The player with the highest-scoring selections will receive the entire prize pool.
  • Top 3 Split: The prize pool could be divided among the top three players with the highest-scoring selections, such as 70% for first place, 20% for second place, and 10% for third place.

As the number of entries increases, the payout structures may be adjusted to distribute rewards to a greater number of players. For example, with more entries, the prize pool could be expanded to include payouts for additional top positions, such as fourth and fifth place, ensuring that more participants benefit from the prize pool.

What happens if multiple players finish on the same number of points

In the event where multiple players finish a game with an equal amount of points and finish in a place paid by the prize pool, any monies will be equally distributed amongst those players.

If the number of players who finish a game with an equal amount of points and finish in a place paid by the prize pool is greater than the number of places paid by the prize pool, then the prize pool will be combined and split equally amongst the number of players.

If multiple players finish in a position, they will also share the positions beneath them, meaning that multiple players can finish joint first, joint second and joint third. The player who finishes next would be regarded as finishing fourth, not second.

Some examples are:

  • If the game is “winner takes all” with a prize pool of £100 and 2 players finish with the most points, the prize pool will be shared equally, meaning each player will receive £50.
  • If the game is “winner takes all” with a prize pool of £100 and 5 players finish with the most points, the prize pool will be shared equally, meaning each player will receive £20.
  • If the game pays £100 for first place, £50 for second place and £30 for third place and 2 players finish with the most points, the players who finished first and second are both regarded as having finished joint first and joint second. The first and second place monies will be combined and shared equally, meaning that the players that finished in first and second place will receive £75 each.
  • If the game pays £100 for first place, £50 for second place and £30 for third place and 10 players finish with the most points, all 10 players are regarded as having finished joint first, joint second and joint third. The first, second and third place monies will be combined and shared equally, meaning that each of the 10 players will receive £18.

Withdrawing funds

You can only withdraw funds to a debit card, withdrawal of funds to a credit card is prohibited and will not be processed. You must have a minimum of £20 in your account for us to process a withdrawal.

Postponed fixtures

In the event that a fixture is cancelled, postponed or rescheduled, the players listed to play in that fixture will not be eligible to score points.

If there is a player in your lineup whose fixture is postponed, your substitute will take their place. If your substitute also does not play, then you will not accrue any points for this position.

If all fixtures in a game are suspended, then all bets will be voided and your account will be credited accordingly.

Incomplete fixtures

If a fixture is not completed, as long as the fixture lasts at least 60 minutes, we will treat the fixture as completed.

Scoring

During the gameweek, your players will be allocated points based on their performance in the Premier League.

Points are awarded for actions during the standard 90 minutes of a fixture, including stoppage time but excluding any extra time or penalty shoot-outs.
